Description
Summary:Today, note taking has already become part of a student’s life. While majority is performing the linear note taking with pen and papers, part of the remaining group is performing with the help of the note taking software. Contradictorily, with these note-taking tools, students are still not performing well in their studies. The cause is resulted from students’ inability to understand the subject’s concept. This project explored on the idea of effective note-taking through concept linking. It is to enhance students’ ability to understand the concept of a subject. Using J2ME - Java 2 Platform Micro Edition technology, a mobile client module was explored and developed to fit into the current demand by student mobile users. Its application was also explored to determine the possible ways to broaden students’ knowledge of a subject. However, owing to the limitation in time, network and programming knowledge, a “dummy” user interface was used. Some recommendations were suggested for future development. Maybe for now, it might not outstand itself from other well-established client modules. But in years to come, this application would most likely to become part of the technology trend in the smart phone. It would become popular not only among students, but also for the working adults who would definitely welcome some help rendered by this mobile learning tool.
