Hence, Biometrics has become more popular in E Commerce security sector in recent times. A biometrics refers to authentication techniques that measure on physical or behavioral of individual. Biometrics can be utilized alone or integrated with other technologies such as encryption keys, digital signatures and smart cards to provide for confidential financial transactions and personal data privacy. Among current biometric technologies, fingerprint technology is fully developed and being used in law enforcement and civilian applications. Nowadays, the fingerprint identification has become demand for various applications use for security purposes. The acquired fingerprint may not be a good quality. Therefore, a series of modification needs to be done, before store data in the web server. The main objective of this project is to implement the series of techniques used for fingerprint image processing such as image preprocessing, minutiae extraction, fingerprint post processing as well as fingerprint matching.
