Eliminating the hustle of manually setting up the chess board, this will certainly attract chess players to give it a try. An important factor in the development of the web portal will be in the choosing of the right language to develop the website while ensuring compatibility during compilation of source code. In this game portal, there are several parts to be cover. However, only the chat system and the chess board will be cover in this report. The rest will be touch on by my team mate. Instead of using only JAVASCRIPT for the chat system and chess board, a combination of PHP language together with APACHE Tomcat server and MYSQL database are used to create a fully functional web portal. Together with AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML), users will be able to monitor the situation real-time without refreshing the web page.
