Description
Summary:As a global population is getting higher, the rate of people using vehicles for all types of purposes is significantly increased. Moreover since time consumption is the vital point for people, using taxis as a form of commute has become one of the most popular forms of common public transports in the city. Therefore, reducing the crowd of vehicles and the traffic on the roads, Governments of various countries have opened new express roads at which Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) gantries were installed to charge for various kinds of vehicles. As the result, consumers started considering the usage of taxis as well as private transports and calculating the fares. The main focus of this project is to improve the Web solution in calculating the fare of the entire trip and detecting the possible paths to destination. This Web portal can calculate the fare according to the user’s choice of paths to the destination. This report emphasizes the research done on software engineering, Google Maps API and Web technologies including Web programming languages such as JavaScript and HTML.
