Summary:This project deals with image enhancement of fingerprints with a focus on latent prints. Latent prints are involuntary prints and hence are often of bad quality with large regions of non-recoverable information. While a standard inked and rolled print may contain essential data points, like the minutiae, in the region of forty and above, for matching of latent prints as little as eight points of match are required.
