New Paper. Journalists make selections about what aspects to write in respect to reality and what to exclude. This paper will examine the type of homosexuality news topics and discuss the tone in the topics and what sources were cited in the news coverage of homosexuality in Singapore.
In this study, content analysis is done on the topics on how newspapers framed homosexuals. The study found 13 common themes about homosexuality being covered in the newspapers, of which the topic about arts, movie and entertainment top the list of news being covered in Singapore. HIV/AIDS issues and homosexual allegation and defamation were the next 2 most reported topics. |
