Summary: | Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease that results in neovascularisation and causes
blindness in diabetic patients. In order to prevent blindness, pan retinal photocoagulation by laser is performed by ophthalmologist. This is a tedious and time
consuming treatment procedure, in which about 3000 laser spots per eye are typically
needed. Thus a robotic pan retinal photocoagulation (Rp2) system is designed for a more efficient treatment, removing fatigue and improving safety as a result. |
