Description
Summary:Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the USA and many other countries. As a result, technologies used to diagnose heart disease have expanded rapidly in the past 30 years. An advanced technology called NOGA XP system which can diagnose and treat some heart diseases in the means of cardiac mapping and injection is currently available in market. The aims of this dissertation are to investigate NOGA XP system and to design a NOGA simulator. The structure, procedures, data analysis mechanism, design principles and clinical applications of NOGA XP system have been studied and presented. Frameworks of NOGA XP system for both professional and patient's concern are constructed. To help physician master operational skills of NOGA XP system in a safe and cost effective way, NOGA simulator has been developed up to a certain stage. The hardware of NOGA simulator, including the mapping and injection catheter and force feedback mechanism is designed. The software including database, algorithm and display system is developed. The interactions between user, hardware and software are studied. Lastly, the frameworks of NOGA simulator for the purpose of cardiac mapping and myocardium injection are presented. NOGA XP system has great advantages over other mapping technologies; hence its popularity is rising in the cardiology area.
