驿动的家 ：以新加坡志成宿舍与其学生为例 = Home on the move : a case study of Zhicheng Hostel and its occupants

本文研究新加坡志成宿舍及寄宿在那里的外籍学生。研究发现，新加坡和志成宿舍两者皆有能力吸引外籍学生到来。新加坡吸引外籍学生的原因在于其独特的社会环境，志成宿舍则是通过提供各种软体和硬体建设而获得华人父母的青睐。由于寄宿学生常年在志成宿舍学习、居住，新加坡和该宿舍成为学生暂时的“家”。这个“家”是阶段性的，同时是寄宿学生在家乡与移居地，以及父母的家与理想的家之间的驿站。此外，本文考察寄宿学生的观点，发现他们使用这个“家”的设备的时候，却无法从中享有完整“家”的感觉。 This thesis studies Singapore Zhicheng Hostel and its foreign student occupants. It finds that both Zhicheng and Singapore are capable of attracting foreign students in their own rights. While Singapore is attractive with its social diversity, Zhicheng provides software and hardware facilities that appeal to the parents of its predominantly ethnic Chinese occupants. The prolonged living and studying render both Singapore and Zhicheng into a temporary “home” for the students. The “home” is phasal and a transitional site for the students, between their hometown and destination of migration, and also between their parents’ home and the ideal home. It also finds that although the occupants make use of the homely facilities in the hostel, they do not get a complete sense of being at “home”.
