Summary:Since the advent of HyperText Markup Language (HTML) in 1990, the lives of most inhabitants of developed and developing countries have been changed forever. In 2004, the term “Web 2.0” was coined during the first Web 2.0 conference, which American media company O'Reilly Media and MediaLive hosted. World Wide Web technology has developed rapidly and turned into Web 2.0. Based on advances of technology, Web 2.0 has provided rich user experience with dynamic content and user collaboration or collective intelligence, scalability. This project introduces fundamental and emerging Web technologies (AJAX, Flash, Web Service and RSS), discovers applications of Web 2.0 (AJAX Push, XMPP and BOSH), especially for collaborative environment, and foresees important future trends for Web technology (Semantic web and HTML5). On the other hand, this project also describes development and implementation of new blog e-learning portal website with PHP Zend framework and JavaScript Dojo framework. AJAX, the most outstanding technology of Web 2.0, was clearly applied to enhance user interface and experience of website and improve understanding about this technology. Through related application, Web 2.0 technology has been used to demonstrate advantages and significance of Web technology development.
