Description
Summary:This report presents the on-going development of multiplayer Internet game based on the Service-Oriented HLA RTI (SOHR) framework. Service-Oriented HLA RTI is an implementation of the High Level Architecture (HLA). The High Level Architecture is a standard developed by the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) branch of the US Dept of Defense. It was developed to support scalability and interoperability in large scale simulation systems. SOHR is based on the standard Grid middleware Globus Toolkit 4. The SOHR services are deployed 4 on the Grid, which provide major HLA services. A prototype of multiplayer game “ping pong” has been designed and implemented to demonstrate the possibility of using SOHR as communication infrastructure in development of multiplayer distributed Internet games.
