Summary:One of the greatest challenges faced by foreign investors when evaluating and implementing their business plans is understanding a government's policies, regulations and laws towards investment in the country concerned. There are a few main areas that potential investors need to consider. First, investors need to ascertain if there is stability, transparency and fairness in the investment regulations of the country. Such an environment will assist foreign investors to operate confidently. Secondly, they need to determine whether a suitable legal environment for foreign investment exists. Finally, they need to determine how foreign investors are treated by the government.
