Description
Summary:Subject cluster book arrangement was a new and improved service by the National Library Board (NLB) (National Library Board, 1997). It was introduced in Tampines Regional Library (TRL) since it opened on 5 Dec 1994 to make the library collection user-oriented and in line with readers' natural inclinations towards retrieval. It is essentially a simplified classification system and shelf arrangement that makes it easier for library clients to find specific genres or subject areas of fiction/non-fiction. This study attempts to evaluate the practical value of this book arrangement for users in terms of facilitating browsing, retrieving books, and promoting self-service.
