Summary:The basic operation and layout implementation of DC-DC converter used in solar panel application is presented in this report. The focus is more on the layout of single input-single output converter which design using the AMIS (AMI Semiconductor) 2P3M (Two Polysilicon Layers – Three Metal Layers) 0.5µm Complimentary Metal-oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) technology. Also, some reference block such as high PSRR bandgap and high speed level shifter is laid-out. The input voltage range is 6V-10V, which come from the solar panel. The output voltage range is between 3.2V-4.2V, which modelled as lithium ion battery.
