Description
Summary:Recent decades had opened a new dimension in astronomy through the emergence of fuel efficient rockets. The initiation of the space exploration program that makes use of these rockets for space exploration had led to many significant breakthroughs in astronomy. Since the initiation of a variety of space exploration programs, they had brought in a number of high quality data including high-precision orbital information of planets as well as comets and asteroids. With the aid of this data, we can position celestial bodies in three-dimensional space with very high level of precision. This project proposes to make use of these available data that were brought in by the space exploration program to develop a virtual 3D solar system that is able to provide real-time simulation of solar system. With the help of this project, we can bring forth the results to various educational demonstrations as well as planetarium exhibits. Some results originated from this project will be used in an A*Star project on digital planetarium setup.
