Description
Summary:Recently, due to the unique structure and extraordinary electrical properties, graphene has been approved to be as the conducting channels in the field-effect transistors (FETs) based chemical and biological sensors. Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) based biosensors have been studied for a period of time and they owned much higher ON/OFF ratio, therefore higher sensitivity in electronic sensing. In this report, the composite of CNTs and graphene will be used as conductive channel in FET based sensing devices. Microfluidics technique was used to obtain large-area and uniform composite pattern onto various substrates including silica chips and flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films. The fabricated devices were characterized by ‘front-gate field-effect transistors’. The ON/OFF ratio of pure CNTs, graphene and composite at different concentrations was compared and it is found that the sensitivity of graphene transistor has been enhanced by incorporation with CNTs. The reliable FETs based field-effect transistor using CNTs/rGO composite as conductive channels had been obtained and showing promising result in chemical sensing.
