Description
Summary:With the rapid growth in demand for data transferred through wireless network there come many problems. Besides the needs to upgrade hardware infrastructure, it is necessary to allocate bandwidth to every nodes in the system fairly and thus improve the Quality of Service (QoS) for customers. The difficulty here is to balance the trade-off between total throughput and fairness. There are several available methods to deal with this kind of problem. However most of them assume that all of the data input are always constant. In real life, this assumption is not true. The data inputs are not constant and subject to changes. This can make the constraints defined in these algorithms invalid and the result may become infeasible. Therefore in this project, the student will apply a new mathematical approach which is the Robust Optimization technique to build a more accurate model that can tolerate the uncertainty of the wireless mesh system.
