Summary: | A short film, though much reduced in length compared to a feature, goes through the same process of development from pre-production to production and post. The goals are similar - to create memorable stories and characters. Having a much smaller team, three in the case of this project, time and manpower is limited. Each stage of production has to be carefully planned to ensure that the final film can be delivered on time. Many ideas and concepts were thrown up along the way, and the final choices were made after many deliberations that sought to achieve a balance between aesthetics and feasibility. This report will share on how the short film, Tales of the Chugawagas is conceived and the characters brought to life, while giving an insight into the stylistic decisions and technical considerations. The focus is put on particular areas of production which the author has contributed to. |
