The goal of autosuggestion and preview in search engines is to give the user a more convenient and comprehensive search experience as search terms that are valid in the system can be displayed to the user and previews provide useful visuals to the user as well. In this project, the goal is to work on an autosuggestion and preview system for a web product search engine that contains mainly products in Chinese. Therefore, apart from the usual autosuggestion and preview, Chinese text is an issue as well. A good way to deal with Chinese text is to provide suggestions as users type Pinyin, a very common input method to describe Chinese characters.
