Summary: | This study seeks to uncover the relevance of “Dimensions of Professionalism” coined by Richard H. Hall in 1967, in the context of the employment environment of the 21st Century, where boundaryless and protean career attitudes are commonplace. Using qualitative and quantitative analyses, we attempt to uncover new attitudes and beliefs that professionals/professionals-in-training today hold, and determine the extent to which these professionals would endorse current attitudes and beliefs in relation to Hall’s traditional attitudes. Next, we also seek to understand how Universities can influence professional attitudes and suggest improvements to the current academic curriculum at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University. Finally, limitations of the study and directions for future research are also discussed. |
