Description
Summary:The Electronic Area Pricing (EAP) System is an innovative platform to modify the existing Parking System that Singapore is currently adopting. This Environmental- Friendly project replaces paper parking coupons through electronic method. The proposed cost effective system can be adopted in all parking areas in places such as HDB apartments, shopping malls and open-air car parks, which also include roadside, that are currently charged through paper coupons. In addition, the proposed system can rectify the possible flaws in the current electronic parking systems by establishing a designated area to be a fee-charging zone. The proposed concept can also serve as deterrence for poor parking-control area (doubled-yellow line situations) and hence enhance the traffic flow. It also allows tracking of vehicle at various locations and any immediate actions can be responded and resolved in a shorter period of time. Therefore, it could serve as a crime detection/deterrence tool for the security of Singapore.
