In this current world, there are a lot of new methods of creating and demolish materials. From the ancient tools where mankind make use of simple stone and rocks to create roofs to the current complexity of machines and materials, things had been evolved to be faster and better.
Regardless of available cutting methods such as the water jet, laser cutting and many more, carbide tipped cutting tool remains the most basic of all. Cutting tool has been a must in the industry. Small elements are needed to assemble components of certain complexity.
In order to meet the needs for more powerful equipment, materials get harder and tougher. Airplanes have been made possible because of turbine blades. The planes will not be able to soar the skies if the blades are made of aluminum or copper.
With the entrance of harder material, it increases the need for a harder cutting tool. In this industry, people like to get things done fast to get the maximum profit and efficiency. Lubricant may be commonly used so as to increase the tool life and reduce friction. There are other several down sides of it. Thus a self lubricating hard coating would be applied onto the cutting tools so as to act as the „lubricant‟ during dry cutting. |
