The number of patients suffering from diabetes has grown from 9 percent in 2004, increased 11 percent last year, higher than the global average of 6 percent. Moreover, World Health Organization figures indicate that the incidence of diabetes in Singapore is set to go up from the current 11% of the population to 17% by 2030. |
