Catenary action of RC beam-column joints in sub-assemblies
Upon large deformation of a beam, the load is redistributed through alternate load paths to achieve equilibrium. The corresponding design method adopted by modern design codes is alternate load path (ALP) approach, which is regarded as the first analytical model for robust building design.
