As we understand cross-cultural differences and influence one another, is there a possibility where the symbolisms and meanings passed down from our mother cultures experience some sort of a change? Could there be a case that a particular symbolism might have evolved to a point that it is unique towards a Singaporean culture? Singapore might not have had the luxury of a long history in which a homogenous culture could have yet been cultivated, but is there a possibility that we can make use of these common symbolisms to reflect upon the local society that we live in? |
