Description
Summary:“Affinity” is a one minute and thirty five seconds (excluding credits) experimental animation short. It is an individual project. It is a visual poem, telling a story between a mother and son with an analogy to Mother Nature and mankind. The story is less plot-driven compared to typical animation shorts. Instead, the plot is told and driven by a series of change in medium and transitions. It is my fruit of labour after four years of accumulation of things I have learnt, read and seen within my university years. This report will cover first the concepts and sources of inspiration that influenced me to create “Affinity”. Then the difficulties faced during production and finally my reflection about this project.
