Also, electricity retailers are able to provide other kinds of electricity tariff metering schemes to consumers such as the Time-of-use tariff metering scheme. The Time-of-use tariff metering scheme consists of two tiers, peak and off peak pricing meters. Under this scheme, residential consumers are charged base on peak and off peak electricity charges during assigned respective peak and off peak periods of the day Currently, Singapore is still adopting the flat tariff metering scheme by Singapore Power (SP) services. To see whether this Time-of-use tariff metering scheme is useful for adoption in Singapore, a demand response management program for staff quarters at NTU is created for this purpose.
