Real time location system (RTLS) applications development
Asset tracking has played an indispensible role in many domains today, such as healthcare, manufacturing and logistics. Real time locating systems (RTLS) are the enabling technology that allows wireless asset tracking to be implemented. However, a typical RTLS requires the support of a physical wire...

Real time locating systems (RTLS) are the enabling technology that allows wireless asset tracking to be implemented. However, a typical RTLS requires the support of a physical wired network with sensors at various places in the deployment region and a centralized database, requiring high setup cost. Furthermore, such backhaul infrastructure may not be available for certain situations that need an asset tracking solution. Therefore, this project presents the development of two wireless asset tracking systems that require minimal or no infrastructural setup and are suitable for many generic applications in various industries. The implementations of these systems are given in this report and some experiments were done to evaluate their performances.
