Traditional paintings in 2D have the difficulty of clearly presenting the spatial relationship of the objects within. The idea of combining these two forms of art and technology together brings the need to develop a systematic approach for people to know how to paint in 3D. This can be realized both in manual painting on real papers and digital painting with softwares. This project includes research on 3D technology, in the form of anaglyph 3D technique, and the creation of 3D manual and digital paintings. In this project, efforts are made to design and develop software for digital painting as ultimate aims. There are 3D painting rules and principles have been discovered, and standard procedures have been developed for each set of painting method.
