Summary: | Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is currently one of cardiovascular disease that has the highest rate of mortality in the world. Although many advanced treatments for CHD were available, currently the recurrence of this disease is still high as the majority of people still persist with their unhealthy lifestyle. Up to now, the best method available for CHD treatment would be autograft by replacing the injured blood vessel. This treatment has offered an excellent recovery in injured area; however it is limited by donor shortage. Thus, tissue engineering (TE) emerged as promising alternative due to its materials availability and minimum drawbacks compared with other treatments. |
