Description
Summary:Singapore, as a tropical country located on the equator, has strong sunlight that is advantageous for solar photovoltaic applications. Renewable solar energy has been identified as a new emerging industry and Research & Development (R&D) area in Singapore. The report provides the details for the development of a grid-connected electricity supply system by using solar energy. In the report, a literature review of Photovoltaic applications and its related theory were included. The report can be divided into two parts. The first part was on the research and implementation of DC-DC converter, DC-AC inverter and a feedback system to maintain output voltage. The second part was focused on Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of Photovoltaic (PV) module. Details of the testing procedures and results for the design systems implemented were included in the report for discussions and verification. Lastly, a conclusion was given to summarize the project and recommendations for enhancement to improve the systems designed were also included.
