Description
Summary:The widespread of machines and structures draw to attention the problem of vibration. Vibration can be destructive in that it increases wear and may alter the parameter values with time. Measuring the parameters again may prove to be cumbersome or impossible. This project analyses the identification process of the mass-spring vibration system using measured vibration test data. The use of a mass-spring vibration is useful as many complex practical systems can be idealized as a mass-spring vibration system and the parameters may be estimated using measured vibration data with the inverse method. This project covers SDOF to 3DOF systems without damping in free vibration using the ECP rectilinear plant and a beam-mass set-up. The measured vibration data would be used to obtain the natural frequency and amplitude response which would be used to estimate the system parameters.
