Gan Woon Seng School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Centre for Signal Processing DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Electronic systems::Signal processing This Paper elaborates the design and development of an analog circuit system which produces directional sound for the purpose of projecting sound effects in games. Such system is able to modulate audio signal from various game controllers and emits the modulated signal via ultrasonic emitter to form a parametric speak array. The reproduced sound becomes highly directional in air and will eventually create a virtual sound source at the place where the wave is reflected. In the paper, the schematic of the circuit is illustrated in detail. Design considerations of each circuit block are discussed accordingly. Methods to improve the system performance are discussed based on various testing point tests in the assembled circuit. The finalized design is documented as schematic diagram, PCB layout and bill of material in appendixes.
