Now the world is facing the problem of global warming. To ensure future generations having an economic and healthy place to live, we must reduced the emissions of heat-trapping gases from current technology and also the increasing excessive amounts of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide collected in the atmosphere, trapped heat that usually would exit into outer space. Another critical problem would be the decrease in natural resources of oil, coals and fuels. Therefore the uses of renewal and clean energy are necessary. [2]
One of the renewal and clean energy are solar thermal technologies that can be used to cool building ventilation. When the air inside the chimney are heated, it caused the air to be pull updraft and out of the building. But due to the Singapore weather conditions there is a need to keep track of the sun radiation, surrounding temperature and humidity for more accurate experimental data for analysis.
But in the reality situation it is not practical to connect physical wire between the computer and the solar roof prototype. Thus there is a need in this project to implement a wireless connection for data acquisition to replace physical wiring. Therefore ZigBee devices are needed in the project to collect data, this report will consist of the detail hardware configuration of the component, circuits used for the wireless monitoring system and heat flux calculation from the solar chimney roof. |
