Summary:The 3-D sound system is introduced around 1950s and has been gaining popularity in entertainment sector. There are many ways to improve the quality of 3-D sound such as binaural sound synthesis. The introduction of the head-related transfer function in binaural sound recording enables much easier 3-D sound reproduction. However, playing 3-D sound using two loudspeakers in stereo placement produces undesired acoustic crosstalk and it may be reduced by cancellation filter built using digital signal processing technique. In this project, the measurement of HRTF as well as crosstalk ratio are studied and different crosstalk cancellation filters are compared.
