Description
Summary:This project developed an indoor Real-time locating system in the context of mobile object monitoring. A system with data measuring, data transmission, data collecting and data displaying capabilities was designed and implemented successfully. The whole system consisted of four parts: 1) mobile tag designed to be worn on a moving object 2) four slave nodes programmed to act as readers at different fixed locations 3) one coordinator for data collection and 4) one PC server for display. Due to issues such as refraction, diffraction, scattering and other indoor conditions, it is typically difficult to get accurate measurements. In order to get around these issues, a two way ranging algorithm was implemented in conjunction with a data smoothing algorithm. This implementation improved the accuracy of the results obtained significantly.
