This project provides a full software development process for a smart measurement application for iPhone with the compatibility of other Apple products running iOS system (iPad 2 and iPod touch). The application enables users to measure the targeted object’s height and distance using iPhone camera and accelerometer. With a mature mathematic model and the iPhone hardware interface (camera and accelerometer), the application software provides a relative precise (within 5% of error rate in certain ranges) and revolutionary measurement method.
