Summary: | Energy consumption in Singapore has increased continuously over the decades. It has adversely affected both the global environment and economic growth of the nation. Climate change has been one of the major environmental challenges faced in Singapore. Due to the excessive energy demand of energy, the increase of using fossil fuels are generated to meet our energy needs , which in turn increases the emission of carbon dioxide, has been identified as a major contributor of greenhouse gases. The main objective of this research was to find a suitable energy efficient solution to solve the increase in supply of energy causing the increase of electrical cost and the burning of fossil fuels which effect the environment in producing carbon dioxide emissions. The result obtained should also cover the financial component. The aim of the field study was obtained to show an example of an existing district cooling system that can be operated by using nuclear energy. |
