Summary: | Fundamental analysis and Technical analysis are two of the commonly used techniques by investors in stocks investment. In the survey conducted during the early FYP phase, it was realised that most of the traders in Singapore are using Technical Analysis as their primary strategy for trading. Therefore the project aims to design an intelligent trading system in allowing each trader to generate the maximum amount of gain through investment trading.
The project consisted of two main phases. The first phase mainly covered the modelling process where the author modelled the successful in achieving the project aims. The project will investigate the techniques adopted by the different successful training institutional in Singapore. In additional, extensive exhaustion testing was conducted on the Singapore blue chips counters on each system to determine their efficiency and profit margin level. However it was found that these successful trading systems each have their own limitation and does not performed very well in certain market condition.
Having identified the problems faced by the two modeled systems, the author aims to create a new trading system where it should counter off the limitation faced by the modeled systems. Extensive exhaustion testing was also conducted on the same Singapore blue chips counters on the designed system to determine their efficiency and profit margin level. A significant increase was observed in both efficiency level (as high as 90% for 10 Range Category) and overall profit level in the year 2010 simulation on the Singapore Blue Chips counters.
The project uses two charting software namely, Equis: MetaStock Program and ChartNexus Charting Program to study the effect in the technical aspect of the stocks. |
