Summary:The basic operating principle of a DVR is by injecting a voltage component in series with the load voltage so that the load-side voltage is maintained at its nominal level during a voltage disturbance. Due to its quick response and high reliability, the DVR is considered to be an effective device in mitigating the impacts of voltage sag and can provide good power quality for customers. The main focus of this project is to examine issues closely related to the design and applications of such a series compensator (SC).
