Results demonstrated that PSP correlated with both internal and external domains of CSW while ECP correlated only with external domains of CSW. Our findings showed that individuals high in personal standards perfectionism were vulnerable to basing their self-worth on successes and failures in external domains of contingencies. The hypothesis that effect of ECP and CSW on self-esteem, positive affect and negative affect following a threat to domain-contingent academic and competition self-esteem depended on PSP was partially supported.
