Summary:This report contains a record of the 22-week attachment of a bioengineering student, Soo Beng Beng (matric no: 071674G19) with Janssen-Cilag Singapre, a division of Johnson & Johnson. The 22-week attachment is an opportunity for student to learn in real life working environment, allowing the student to gain exposure to sales and marketing operations in the pharmaceutical industry. The attachment enriched student’s working experience, enhanced student’s interpersonal skills and improved their working ability. Author witness the application of bioengineering knowledge learnt in school to be applied in pharmaceutical industry. It could be a motivation for the student to learn and so to find out the possibility of more advanced technology. Author had also learnt about sales and marketing practises during the attachment. Endless forecasts and analysis are just a fraction of work needed to be done. Marketing in Janssen-Cilag is quite event-based. Most of the time, marketers need to be prepared to response to critical situations as events coming up one after another. Author is glad to find herself was able to fit in to the fully dynamic environment. In general, it has been a fruitful and pleasant internship with Janssen-Cilag, a division of Johnson & Johnson. Author is glad that she was once a member of Johnson & Johnson.
