A programme of in situ testing using the Swedish Ram Sounding test and Standard Penetration Test was undertaken at four widely separated sites on the NTI campus. A total of sixteen boreholes were drilled through the residual soils and weathered rocks of the sedimentary Jurong Formation. Engineering fill had been placed in varying amounts at one of the sites. Correlation of the results showed a trend contrary to those previously established.
