This report presents an attempt to automatically recognize survey targets captured on digital images using a pair of charge-coupled device cameras. Two different types of target were used, circle and rectangle. After determining the estimated location of the target centres, a more precise form of target centre measurement was used to locate the target centre right down to sub-pixel level. The image coordinates determined in this manner was then photogrammetrically restituted to obtain the object-space coordinates of the targets and compared to known values. The total timing of using such a system was also assessed.
