In video transmission, an encoder may skip a number of frames to reduce the bit rate in response to variation in bandwidth of network. This results in a degradation in the visual quality of decoded video, especially in cases of high frame skip rate. To avoid this, frame interpolation is proposed to increase the frame rate of the decoded video at the receiver side and to smoothen the motion of the video, which is done by synthesizing and inserting new frames between existing frames. In this project, we propose a high efficient frame interpolation method to reconstruct the skipped frames accurately through interpolation.
