Current Bluetooth specification does not support real time transmission of high quality audio signal due to the bandwidth limitation. There are two links exist in Bluetooth communication: SCO (synchronous connection oriented) link and ACL (asynchronous connectionless link) link. SCO link is for synchronous transmission with 64kbps data rate, and ACL link is for asynchronous data transmission, which has higher data rate (up to 723kbps).
