Passive fluid mounts have been in use in automotive and aerospace industry since 1940s. They provide noise and vibration isolation at a frequency coined "notch frequency" which is basically designed to coincide with the longest period of constant speed. To obtain the greatest noise and vibration reduction at any desired frequency, the notch frequency needs to be close to that desired frequency.
