Chan Bee Eng, Mary School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Materials::Biomaterials 95 p. Biomaterials play an important role in artificial organ replacement. These biomaterials are used as scaffolds for the tissue growth. One such materials is poly(ecaprolactone-colactide-co-glycolide) diacrylate (PCLLGA-DA), prepared by ring opening polymerization of lactide (LA), glycolide (GA) and e-caprolactone (e-CL), diacrylation and photo polymerization. The photopolymerized polymer films had good physical and mechanical properties and the in vitro biocompatibility studies showed positive results. However, in vivo biocompatibility test are necessary because the in vivo condition may produce different effects on the biocompatibility of polymer.
