Rajesh Piplani School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Industrial engineering::Supply chain 71 p. With the development of supply chain and related logistics technologies, efficiencies are improved. The most important issue in supply chain management and particularly for manufacturing industry is related to the proper location of the CODP (push-pull boundary). In the past, companies stored finished goods in the warehouse to meet customers' demand. However, a larger number of finished goods inventory (FGI) means a greater holding cost. Under this situation, most of demand can be satisfied, but they have to spend a lot of money for keeping so many finished goods. Currently companies are managed using hybrid approach in supply chain management which could decrease inventory level. As rule of found, the faster the inventory turnover, the less it cost you to hold.
