Brain Computer Interface (BCI) is a rapidly emerging technology which involves developing a path between the human brain and the computer. Recording of the brain waves may be invasive or non-invasive. Invasive method involves the implantation of the electrode into the brain and is accurate whereas non-invasive methods like EEG involves acquisition of the signals from the scalp and is convenient and safe. The signals thus recorded find its use in a wide range of applications especially in serving as a communication device for the physically deprived individuals with complete paralysis. Examples include the spelling system and the control for robotic arm or prostheses.
